Annabel

Slightly better today.  At least I had enough energy to pick up the radio + tune it in.  And I struggled from my bed to crawl down to the Himalayan Café for breakfast with Val – a not particularly nice bowl of porridge.  From there, however, it was straight back to the hotel, where’re I passed the time writing the diary + a letter or so.  Val went off to do her own thing again today – I believe she went to the zoo + museum with Annabel.  Later on in the day, I ventured out again alone, but only as far as the nearest chemist shop, where I bought some veganin headache tablets, + to a local restaurant for a hot dog.  Feeling that that was more than enough for the day, I returned to my bed, + waited for the others.

By the end of the day, I was feeling much better, well enough to join the others, V + A, D + S, next door.  They had bought sausages, +, as D + S’s room is equipped with a small stove, had cooked up hot dogs.  The sausages had not proved too wonderful actually, with lots + lots of fat inside, + ridiculously tough skins out, but with plenty of onions, good bread, the final sachets of our HK McDonalds ketchup, + good appetites, they went down well enough.  Finished the evening once again with cards, but actually the main entertainment was story-telling, with mainly Dave contributing various tales of drunken misbehaviour + encounters with the law.  Hilarious stuff.

Good to report some signs of improvement. And good to be in a small gang at present, if only to give Val a bit more support, and to provide some social occasions in the evenings.
