Ahead of my arrival in Lucknow, Vikash, a teacher in the public school system there, and one of the leaders of the Eshaaz project (who are organising the community project) has published on Instagram a series of short teasers, designed to promote interest in the project… and presumably to recruit performers. Up until now, they have been intriguing, enigmatic… but this time I was introduced for the first time. The short video here i9s a combination of me as talking head, intercut with clips from rehearsals for Snakes and ladders, recently staged in London.
But, like I say, Instagram. Nothing too radical there, but I tend to avoid social media at the best of times, so had to steel myself to sign up. Just so that I could watch myself (always a disturbing experience, since I tend to think of myself as twenty-three…) Many of you will already be regular Instagram… er, watchers?
