Housekeeping

That’s blogsite housekeeping, by the way. After years of complaints about reCAPTCHA not allowing people to make comments on the blog, Arun, our website fixer, has finally managed to make it work properly.  So, if you have felt irritation at its antics (and believe me, we have felt it too) please try again.  It might still need me to approve it (some have found a way past that requirement) but it will appear.  Please don’t get impatient and post your comment multiple times (though I do understand why) as I just get lots of your emails to delete.

Arun has also begun the process of doing a major refurbishment of the site.  It is really complicated now that there are so many posts (including entries which date from way before the internet!) and the intention is to create a site that one can navigate around, that will include themed categories, that allows you to read historical blogs from the beginning (rather than the end), and more.

Actually, you could help.  I don’t have lots of readers, but if you are one, what improvements would you like to see (other than improvements to the writing and photography.)  You can message with any suggestions, all the more so if you are familiar with other sites.

One improvement you ought to see straight away is greater use of video clips.  They have always proved a nightmare to include, but  either the technology has improved or we have, so hopefully there will be more moving images to enjoy, where appropriate.

But this is a work in progress, and there have been one or two recent examples when the video component is fixed  or added after the post has been… posted.  Especially if you receive your posts by email, you need to go to the actual site to take a look if there are any recent ones that you have missed.

Thank you for reading.  Mostly this is, like a diary, for the purposes of record-keeping, but it is nice when others read it too.
